Investigations

As a certified laboratory by the National Accreditation Body of Hungary, the High Voltage Laboratory is able to complete measurements and tasks ordered by industrial companies thanks to its excellent staff and its equipment. Investigations of insulations and operational safety of various high voltage devices, diagnostic and condition test of equipment can be performed by the Group of High Voltage Technology and Equipment.

Certified investigations

It is possible to investigate and also give an expert opinion on equipment used in practice with certified investigations. The Laboratory can investigate the equipment of working near exposed energized parts and the equipment of medium and high voltage live-line maintenance.

 

The equipment that can be investigated in the High Voltage Laboratory include, but is not limited to:

  • insulated aerial vehicle
  • insulator rods
  • conductor car
  • insulating rope
  • conductive clothing

Diagnostic tests

Having information about the condition of the installations is a key issue in terms of operation of electrical networks. The safe operation of the – usually expensive – equipment of power systems is essential to provide power supply. Diagnostics of various devices are necessary to maintain continuous operation. The Group of High Voltage Technology and Equipment can investigate electrical equipment in the High Voltage Laboratory professionally:

Building Management

The management of energy is a dynamically evolving, globally important field, which is a key question in the manner of commerce and administration.

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics considers essential to provide the proper knowledge and practical fundamentals for students at this field, too. Department of Electrical Power Engineering provides a good opportunity to gain knowledge about the topic in the laboratory and in practice, as well. The students can work on the education board of the laboratory with up-to-date devices and with various applications.

Students are welcome to prepare project laboratory, bachelor and master thesis. Their fresh knowledge can be improved by training at industrial partners.
